Terms & Conditions

Info

The following sets out the terms and conditions for your attendance at League Connect™ 2024 (“Event”). By registering for the Event, you are agreeing to comply with these terms and conditions.

These terms of service are a binding agreement (“Terms & Conditions”) between you and League, Inc. (“League”). Please take the time to read this agreement carefully including the event Privacy Policy, as these documents contain important information affecting your legal rights. It is your responsibility to understand what these Terms & Conditions mean and how you might be affected by them.

Event Registration

You must acknowledge and accept these Terms & Conditions as a condition of registering for and attending the Event. If you do not wish to accept these Terms & Conditions, you should not register. By completing and submitting your registration for the Event, you are affirming your express acceptance of the Event Terms & Conditions.

Event registration is subject to availability and may close earlier than the posted deadline, as determined in our sole discretion. We may also change the program or schedule at any time prior to the Event in our sole discretion.

Fees and Cancellation

Registration for the Event may require the payment of registration or other fees by you or on your behalf by your employer. Where the Event requires payment of a registration fee, the Event’s registration page will contain cancellation instructions and a refund policy for the Event. Any cancellation of your registration for the Event will be subject to these rules.

League may also cancel the Event at any time in its sole discretion for reasons such as availability or suitability of venue or speakers, or on security, health, or safety grounds. We may deny, limit, or cancel your Event registration at any time and will not be responsible for any direct or indirect damages resulting from cancellation. If we cancel or modify the Event or your registration and you have complied with these Terms & Conditions, we will issue you a refund of your Event registration fee in accordance with the refund policy posted to the Event’s registration webpage.

Travel and Hotel Accommodation

You are fully responsible for making your own travel and accommodations arrangements and for complying with all other conditions (such as visa requirements) that may apply to your travel arrangements.

We will not be liable for any travel or accommodation formalities and/or expenses or if you are unable to attend the Event due to a Force Majeure event or any event out of our control. We recommend you to obtain appropriate insurance against trip cancellation as well as to have adequate health and accident insurance as applicable or appropriate.

Program Materials

Program materials will (in most circumstances) be issued to you on the day of the Event. Program materials are intended only for the personal use of Event attendees and are not to be reproduced, shared or distributed (whether in whole or part) by any method whatsoever without prior written permission given to you by the copyright owner.

Special Assistance

If you require or would like to request special assistance (e.g. in relation to a person who is blind/visually impaired or a person with a physical disability), please contact us in advance by email to arrange such assistance at the Event.

Where applicable, you will be given the opportunity to mention any dietary requirement in the registration form and/or through the subscription process.

How League will use your information

League is committed to data privacy and the protection of your personal information. How League collects, processes, and uses personal information is set out in the event Privacy Policy, which is hereby incorporated into these Terms & Conditions.

League will use the personal information you provide as part of registration only for the purpose of administering your participation in the Event. This may include information about the event’s content, event logistics, payment, updates, and additional information related to the event.

Email Address. By submitting your email address during the registration process, you agree that League and its event partners, such as the Event venue or planner, may send you event-related information. A valid email address that is personal to you is required for all registrations.

Participant List. League may at its discretion create and circulate a participant list to other Event attendees. The purpose of such a list is to facilitate your ability to contact other participants ahead of the Event in order to set up meetings or other networking activities. Use of any participant list would be limited to this purpose only. No other use of the participant list, such as for the purpose of sending marketing promotions or solicitations, will be permitted prior to, during, or after the Event. We will explicitly request your consent to be included in any participant list that we should create for the Event. Inclusion in a participant list is entirely optional. If you would prefer that your name and contact information not be included on any participant list, you do not have to provide your consent.

Third Party Service Providers. League may disclose some of your personal information to its third party service providers that have been engaged to assist in the delivery of the Event. Information you provide when registering for or participating in the Event may be shared with other parties that are managing or that have co-sponsored the Event, in which case your information may also be further subject to the privacy policies of these other parties. Except as described herein, League will not disclose your personal information to any other party without your consent except where required to do so by law.

Nondiscrimination policy

League prohibits discrimination, harassment, and bullying against any person in all its forms. This includes, for example, any discrimination that is based on age, ancestry, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religion, gender, sexual or affectional orientation, gender identity, appearance, matriculation, political affiliation, marital status, veteran status, and all other protected grounds under law.

Event conduct and safety

League is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment to all participants, including staff and vendors, at the Event. League has no tolerance for discrimination, harassment, bullying, or violence in any form at the Event. Participants are expected to adhere to these principles and respect the rights of others.

If you witness any behavior inconsistent with these principles at the Event, you are encouraged to report it to onsite staff. Event staff will be happy to assist participants with any situation they might be experiencing, such as contacting venue security or local law enforcement, providing escorts, or providing any other assistance that might be required for participants to feel safe for the duration of the Event.

In order to ensure the safety and security of the Event, you understand that you and your property may be subject to a reasonable search upon entry to the Event and you may be asked to provide photo identification. If you refuse to participate in these security measures, we may deny you entry. We also reserve the right to ask you to leave the Event if your behavior causes us any concern for the safety or security of Event attendees. If we deny you entry or require you to leave on grounds of safety or security, you will not receive a refund.
You may also contact League directly to report a concern at connect@league.com.

Acknowledgement of Covid-19 and Other Risks

You fully understand that:

You hereby acknowledge and agree that in the absence of any negligence or other breach of duty by League, your entry to the Event venue and attendance at the Event is entirely at your own risk.

Safety Protocols

Due to the uncertainty related to COVID-19, Attendee admission to the Event venue and attendance at the Event is subject to any health and safety policies, assessments, precautions and/or protocols put in place by local, state and federal governmental agencies, by the Event venue owner or operator, and/or by League or third parties, including requirements relating to face masks and/or enhanced health screenings, which may include a requirement that Attendees, and any person in an Attendee’s party, be tested for COVID-19 prior to or during the Event and/or provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (“Safety Protocols”). You acknowledge and agree to comply with the Safety Protocols. Failure to comply with Safety Protocols will automatically terminate any rights that Attendees may have hereunder, and will authorize the Event venue owner/operator and/or League (or their respective personnel) to refuse any Attendee admission to the Event venue, or to eject an Attendee from the Event venue and Event, without refund in each case. You acknowledge that the Safety Protocols are not diagnostic and do not eliminate the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Liability Waiver and Release

In consideration of being allowed to register for and participate in the Event, you hereby (i) warrant and represent that you are age 18 or above and (ii) freely waive, release from liability, assume all risks, and covenant not to sue League, or its members, employees, directors, officers, board members, agents, or volunteers, for any expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, illness, including, but not limited to COVID-19, disability, property damage, or property theft or actions of any kind that you may hereafter suffer or sustain before, during, or after the event.

The foregoing waiver and release will apply to all loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, illness, disability, property damage or property theft or actions of any kind that you might suffer except where caused by the sole, gross negligence of League.

Trade Compliance and Ethics

You represent and warrant that you and your financial institution(s) that provide funds used to pay Event fees are not subject to sanctions or otherwise designated on any list of prohibited or restricted parties, or owned or controlled by such a party, including but not limited to the lists maintained by the United Nations Security Council, the U.S. government (e.g., the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Specially Designated Nationals list and Foreign Sanctions Evaders list and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Entity List), the European Union or its member states, or other applicable government authority.

You certify that you have confirmed with an appropriate ethics official that there are no federal, state, local, or institutional ethics or procurement laws, regulations, or rules that restrict or prohibit your attendance at the Event or which would otherwise create or place League into a conflict of interest.

Invited Speakers

If you have been asked and have agreed to speak at the Event, League may share your contact and biographical information with other event attendees. Sometimes we may also request a photograph of you to distribute along with your other information. In some cases, we post information about you on the Event website such as your name, employer, physical work address, work email address, as well as a link to your company website and/or professional LinkedIn page available to the public. This is so that visitors to the Event website can contact you with questions and requests for more information, and to provide feedback if needed.

If you would prefer that we not share any of your information publicly on the Event website, please let us know and we will accommodate your request. You have the right to dictate how your information will be used and shared.

Invited speakers may also be asked to complete a copyright release or other form of agreement prior to their presentation. This is so that we will be able to record and circulate copies of your presentation to other Event attendees.

Usage of photographic and video material

In order to comply with global data privacy laws, League imposes certain restrictions on the use of multimedia (e.g. photography, video, audio, online streaming, etc.) at the Event. Attendees are permitted to use hand-held cameras and/or smart phones to take photographs and capture digital images for personal, non-commercial use only. Photographs taken at the Event may not be published, sold, reproduced, transmitted, distributed or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever.

League may also hire professional photographers or videographers to record or take images of the Event, including recordings or images of Event attendees. At our discretion, League may also post real-time photos and videos to its various social media feeds and/or display select submissions from those feeds on monitors set up at the Event venue. Event attendees are permitted to post their own social media content from the Event, including text, photos, audio, and video streaming, provided such content does not infringe upon the rights of League, or any other Event attendee or sponsor, or third party. Such infringement would include, but is not limited to, defamation, invasion of privacy or publicity rights, or infringement of intellectual property rights. Obtaining third party releases for the use of another’s image or likeness is the sole responsibility of Event attendees and not of League.

By attending the Event, you acknowledge and agree that: (i) League may edit and use footage it captures of you at the Event for marketing and promotional activities and for any other lawful purpose, and (ii) while League will make every effort to enforce its policy relating to the use of photographic and video material taken at the Event, we cannot guarantee that your image will not be captured in one multimedia format or another by other Event attendees and will not be liable for any such occurrence.

General

League reserves the right to change, amend, add or remove any of these Terms & Conditions in its sole discretion and without prior notice to you. If one or more of these Terms & Conditions should be or become invalid, the remainder will continue to be valid and apply to the maximum extent permissible. These Terms & Conditions apply to all Event participants including all attendees, speakers, sponsors, or exhibitors.

We and our affiliates will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under these Terms & Conditions where the delay or failure results from any cause beyond our reasonable control (“Force Majeure event”), such as acts of God, labor disputes or other industrial disturbances, electrical or power outages, utilities or other telecommunication failures, earthquake, storms, or other elements of nature, blockages, embargoes, riots, acts or orders of government, acts of terrorism, or war.

You may not assign or otherwise transfer these Terms & Conditions or any of your rights and obligations thereunder without our prior written consent. Any assignment or transfer in violation of this section will be void. We may assign these Terms & Conditions without your consent for any reason.

The views expressed by any Event attendee, speaker, exhibitor, or sponsor are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of League. All Event attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors are solely responsible for the content of all presentations, marketing collateral, and advertising that is displayed or distributed at the Event.
